At the beginning of the pandemic, I got into the very expensive habit of home-brewing coffee–which is already cheaper than daily lattes I bought at the cafe–but then after 3 months of aggressive consumption, I developed an intolerance to caffeine. So tons of money saved!!

All your tips were my favorite, they all make sense…The world today makes everything so easy with the click of a button, and I kind of like the old ways. People don't have self discipline anymore everything is instant gratification, but I'm old school and this all makes sense, so many ways to save money that people spend so stupidly….great video

Some mortgage companies hold on it before they actually apply the payment. I will check again though.
I go to Brazilian market for my meat. Better and cheaper than main places.

Is tip #2 accurate? For my mortgage if I make extra principal payments throughout the month, I’m still expected to pay the full monthly amount at the start of the month. More of it will go to principal but it’s not like I can pay half the amount due on the 1st of the month. What am I missing?

I like your tips, but I don't agree with skipping breakfast to save money. It's not that expensive (and usually healthier) to make breakfast at home

Thank you for the tip to split mortgage payments in half to save on interest. When making the bimonthly payments, would I need to specify principal and interest? Or does it automatically apply?

11:53 the idea of a "gender tax" is not just baseless nonsense, its also toxic and creates a victim mentality.
no one is forcing woman to buy "female" version of products. Every type of personal care product has a gender neutral version, the ones for "women" or for "men" usually have added chemicals that are supposed to cater to the person's needs, that's all nonsense and whoever falls for that marketing trick deserves to pay more. Keep in mind that the "for men" version of those products is also expensive.
Shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, razors, shaving cream, all that stuff is gender neutral.
The only reason women pay more for personal care is vecause they usually go for the fancy stuff.
Men usually buy the plain gender neutral version.
So the woman tax is self inflicted

Something I do: I bought a small safe that I managed to secure down into the trunk of my car. So, anytime i go to work or go to a friend's house to maybe watch a football game or something, I put my debit and credit cards and any cash I may have inside the safe and lock it up. So, during the day if I get the urge to buy lunch instead of eating my prepared meal or buy a drink from the vending machine I know that I am going to have to walk all the way back outside to the parking lot, unlock the safe, get my money, and walk back into the building. The urge quickly goes away and I stay with the current plan of eating my bologna sandwich and refilling my water bottle.

For mortgage, How do you pay biweekly? Just half of the monthly mortgage? Do I tell the lender anything? Does next mortgage bill become half? Biweekly will make me pay 13 months worth of mortgage amount which is too much.

I like saving and investing, also enjoy luxury goods. But I don't buy brand new ones, I shop in the preloved market and look really hard for the best deals on the market. The great thing is I can always resell them again and still enjoy them for a long time. They really do last long.
