Key word… “About to Quit”. What is the stat of how many have actually quit their jobs and did not receive covid benefits?

You know what’s interesting… that pre-covid there was a lot of conversations about jobs being automated.

How did the whole “Great Resignation” trend start? By an economist writing an article? Do you know which economist wrote the first article on this topic?

Now, everyone seems to be writing about “Great Resignation” Trend that will allow employees to leave bad jobs, live their dreams, live the life style they’ve always wanted.

But, if employees resign they will not receive severance packages for the roles organizations may have been potentially planning on automating.

Is this some sort of a “social influence theory hypnosis” happening? Where people may be inclined to be influenced by “Social Trend” and follow suit? Hence, “About to Quit” and as a result organizations will not have to pay severance as well as if you’re in Canada… no unemployment insurance and/or covid benefits.

Bunch of talentless losers finally want to become an artist and sell to make a living. If you weren’t practicing while you had a 9 to 5 for at least 10 years, go back to work!! Even I still have a 9 to 5 and I’ve been dabbling with art and music for over 14 years and I dont expect to make a living yet doing what I love. There is so much to learn and you should be well seasoned before you show up in the world.

These are skilled workers deciding to walk. People need to get trained…if companies need to train, they’re going to train computers…

I just found your channel and love and agree with your content. The biggest reason people are leaving these jobs is because of antiquated workplace concepts. Wasting 40 hours a week for no reason other than to fulfill the status quo when the job can be done in less amount of time. People got a taste of what it can be like and now that office employers are demanding their employees to come back and employees looked at how much of a farce it is to work from the officer altogether as their "writing on the wall" and thus why we're seeing a mass "exodus" out of businesses. American companies need to pay attention and actually care about their employees before they're faced with having no choice but to close the doors because they didn't want to pay nor treat their employees fairly.

It’s like the old story of the hard working ant and the lazy grasshopper. The people not paying rent, on unemployment are living it up. That is short lived. Winter is coming. I have not stopped working, nor has my wife. I have never been on unemployment, I have taken pay cuts, worked 2 jobs, worked as a temp. I am in IT, 90% of my job can be done from home. But he office wants us in 3/day. I have a long commute, have to get up early, etc. I would like to work from home full time. I am thinking about getting a different job. I have been a loyal employee for 18 years. I don’t hate my job, but there are incentives now?

Interestingly I have been looking for work for 2 years now and for all the crying about looking for people, I get no response to any of my applications. So are they only talking service jobs here? because that's what it looks like to me.

As great as it is receiving “free money” it’s all causing a bunch of inflation and we have not even come CLOSE to seeing the repercussions of that yet.

Unfortunately the largest group of these people don't have the education or work experience to pull this off. It would be wonderful if we all had the choice to quit our jobs to find something better. Reality… these jobs with the flexibility your talking about are going to made available to people with college degrees or more work experience than you have. It's called competition. It's a cute notion, though. People wanted the option to be able to just quit their job and grab something better long before the pandemic, but it wasn't an option for them then, nor is it now. That's not how the job market works. There will always be production and warehouse jobs that require physical labor. An incredibly tiny percentage of the world population could ever pull off a blatantly arrogant move like just quitting and getting a better job. If they could have they would have. What's really going to happen is these people are going to quit their jobs and are finding themselves in a place where their skills are not as in demand as they perceived… And have to go back to exactly what they were doing before, but now for less money because they burned a bridge.

I took a job to have some income while I find a better job. It is so bad there. Pay is 16.50 when min wage is 15…0 benefits as a full-time wworker. We don't even get the paid breaks the law gives us.. I don't care if I go over my lunch break since they don't care about paying us the lawful break…And Memorial Day is coming up and we don't work and we don't get paid for the Holiday. They have been having a hard time finding people. I wonder why….who wants to make min wage as in a full-time job with 0 benefits….these companies need to get their heads out of the clouds.

I have been calling this since the pandemic was declared because throughout history, there has always been a economic power-shift during the recovery years after a pandemic or other global disaster. The best example would be Europe after the plague, much of the workforce died off, so the power shifted from the land owners to the land workers. A short supply of workers meant that demands could be made of the land owners for better wages and conditions. The same sort of thing is happening now. Today employers can no longer treat their workforce poorly with the expectation they will stay because they 'really need this job'. Workers now have leverage to demand better pay and conditions and the number of resignations is so high in such a short time it is forcing the powers-that-be to pay attention.

The problem if you work in retail you have to be in the store and where I work at Walmart they can’t get workers probably because many work at home now

Everybody cheering their ability to work from home as a breakthrough in their quality of life…but it has me wondering how long employers are going to take to realize if people can really do this job well remotely "Why don't we just hire people from another country who will do it for way less pay?"
