To start, lets talk about THE GREAT RESIGNATION, while nearly 40% of Americans are thinking about QUITTING their jobs, with “I QUIT” now being called a sign of an economic recovery.

First, one of the most SELF EXPLANATORY reasons people are quitting: They want to work from home.
The reality is, many employees got USED to working remotely, not having a commute, and being able to focus on their work without any office distraction – and that’s something they want the option of keeping. In fact, it was found that “ One in 4 pandemic home buyers would choose to stay at their new home and find a new job if required to return to the office.”

Second, Employees are looking for LESS WORK.
During the last year, as some businesses downsized their staff…that increased workload fell on fewer employees who had to pick up the slack. All of a sudden, one person was doing the work for two – and the expectation was, at least you’re fortunate enough to have a job in the first place…but NOW, the turns have tabled.

Third, people are quitting because they value CAREER GROWTH.
It was found that “80% of those thinking of leaving a job are concerned about career growth, and nearly 75% say the pandemic made them rethink their skill sets.” It was even said that “High-performing workers are the most concerned about career advancement in their current jobs, and they no longer feel geographically tied to local employers in a remote world.”

Fourth, employees are also quitting because they’re getting BETTER OFFERS with HIGHER PAY.
Workers who stay loyal to the same job make, on average, 50% LESS than someone who switches jobs every 2-3 years. That’s because workers who switch jobs are able to negotiate better terms with an increased pay…and now, during a worker SHORTAGE, the EMPLOYEE has more leverage in terms of who they pick to work with.

And fifth – companies are flat out getting more competitive.
The unemployment boost also has a second benefit for employees – it gives them the LUXURY of shopping around, taking their time, and waiting for the best career opportunity instead of snatching up the first offer they get. That’s leading EMPLOYERS to become more competitive, offer higher pay, with better working conditions, sometimes from home – and, employees are the ones who get to benefit.

Workers realized that they can get just as much done from home, IF NOT MORE, while saving time on commuting, spending more time with friends and family, AND saving money in the process…and, companies are taking notice. To attract top talent, businesses should be bending over backwards to make their employees happy – and, if they’re not – right now, there are plenty of others willing to give them what they want.

This is being referred to “The Great Reshuffling,” as people switch careers, employers, and locations, finding work they value much more – and, in the long run, I think this is a GOOD THING. Employers should be able to retain better quality employees…employees will get better working conditions and higher pay…not to mention, maybe a better work-life balance.

Capitalists suddenly hate capitalism when they're on the wrong side of the supply/demand curve…

I quit my job today. I was tired of the mistreatment and the hostile work environment. I was having anxiety attacks almost daily. No job is worth my health.
Edit: I quit and then they fired me. Bizarre.

I hope Kroger & it's companies similar to it learn from this decade because I've been working at my local Ralphs since last September and I'm gonna quit by the end of this month cuz I'm since of the inhumanity, psychological abuse, unfair physical workload per employee regardless of department & unjustified pay wage per hour… all while you're expected to work within their expectations unless you make Kroger work with your availability & abilities as a human & not a droid.

Another problem is we lack manufacturing in America in local areas as such products have to be shipped from China or where ever and this causes a delay in keeping up with demand, if we had manufacturing of all products in each state the prices would drop significantly, so if we here in America can manufacture our own product we could keep up with the supply and therefore the demand and if it did not have to be shipped the cost of that too would be eliminated and inflation would cease, So get those factories built and ready to go which was President Trumps plan too bad people listen to gossip and messed up their chances of having a booming economyGod knows Biden isn’t going to do it for us, we have got to bring back manufacturing for inflation to stop

How about the cost of health care? Every year, the health care premiums go up and employers cut back on their contributions in addition to stagnant wages. People want to know why their healthcare keeps going up and they have to pay even higher deductibles. How does an X ray cost over $500 these days?

Many were ok with getting paid somewhat less in exchange for security. But when they got fired with a shrug by the company, this bargain went out with it.
What does companies expect?! Rewarded for being disloyal?

Another thing is that you only life once, so why waste your best years for work? Just because you are told so?
Many people re-evaluate their lives and their priorities. I will never ever again do overtime. The only ones who benefit from it are my employer and the tax bureau.

Just wait until goods and services are no more and all that money you seek will be pointless. An empty food table and nowhere to go to eat because Chef, cooks, bartenders and wait staff can't work remotely may cause the bubble of "I can't work because I demand more money to live" will be a fruitless attempt and many will be forced to go back to work. Good luck in finding mechanics, carwash employees, grocery workers and general labor who do not want to return to work because of the dream state of "I can do better". It's a dream and will be short lived. Time to man up or go hungry.

if a millennial wants to prove there case then they need to lay it all out there . i don't believe for one second what there saying they cant make it because the decks stacked against them . i think personally it all comes down to responsibility . they had an easy life with parents giving them everything , and now the government giving them free handouts . so they see working and saving for big purchases not a necessity they live for the moment spending money on video games expensive cars , mobile phones , and other items . then blame someone else for there irresponsibility. that's what happens when you coddle a person there whole life just look at first second third generation welfare families. stop demanding everything and start earning everything like the generation before you did its called blood sweat and tears . its takes hard work and sacrifices to get ahead in this word. next time your at Starbucks spending 25 on that late mocha , or at the apple store waiting for the next generation phone think twice about what your spending your money on .
